![]() He chooses to save revenant Liu Kang and make him a god, combining the souls of Liu Kang’s past and present selves, along with Raiden’s own soul into one being: Fire God Liu Kang. However, once defeated, instead of a fatal blow by the thunder god, Raiden does the unpredictable and unthinkable. He storms onto the boat ferrying Lord Raiden and duels him. As the combined armies of Outworld at the command of the new Kahn Kitana, the Shaolin Monks led by Kung Lao, and the Earthrealm forces with Cassie Cage as their head all make their way to Kronika’s Isle on the Sea of Blood, the revenant Liu Kang finally gets a chance to take his revenge. There, with victory all but assured, she allows Revenant Liu Kang to absorb the soul of his younger self, perverting his nature, but greatly increasing his power to take his revenge on Raiden. However, with Raiden getting wise on his puppetmaster, she instead takes the young version of Liu Kang away from the group and makes him a prisoner on her isle. Kronika soon confirms as much to Raiden’s face, stating that he and Liu Kang fighting together has always been the only chance to stop her plan, so she removes Liu Kang from the equation in every timeline she’s ever reshaped. Included in this group is a young version of Liu Kang from the days of the Mortal Kombat tournament on Shang Tsung’s Island. However, this action results in a timequake that brings former and younger characters of the past into the present day. This provocation evokes Kronika’s wrath, and she begins the process to reshape time once again as she has many times before, restarting the universe from the beginning, only this time removing Raiden from the equation.
